AGM Meeting

Monday 6th Feb @ Old Comrades (upstairs), 7.45pm

New Site

Thank you to Stuart for sorting out the website, now we need to make it work and be an informative resource for all that are interested in this league that we play in.

Stuart and myself got tired of hearing people moan about the pool league and decided that we should do something positive that will hopefully allow people to contribute to the running of our league.

People are quite happy to moan about the league and the way it is currently run but in recent years i have not seen many people speaking out at the meetings. The league is currently chaired by Billy Melvin and it has been for all the time that i have been in the League (2002), if it wasnt for Billy there wouldnt be a pool league so its about time we offered our support instead of slagging him off.

Our league should have at least one named Treasurer, a Secretary, Chair and perhaps vice Chair. I am not sure if we currently have a Treasurer and Secretary so these jobs need to be filled. If your interested please show your interest at the meeting or prior to this on here. If we have a full array of committee members this league would become better organised and might be worthy of peoples positive comments. Running a pool league is not a job for one person !!

Lets not forget John Rowe who compiles the League table and Averages this is a thankless job that no one really appreciates, John was kind of rail roaded into this role and if anyone is willing to help him or take over the role i am certain that he would bite your hand off !!!

Captains need to remember that at every meeting you are the team representative who can vote on decisions to be made and even suggest ways that your team think things can be done better.

Lets have a united front instead of being a bunch of moaning pool players, if people dont get involved in the league then nothing will change and we will be in the same position in 2020 !!!

See you at the meeting on the 8th March.

Melvin
