The league committee has been ratified as follows:
W Melvin: Chairman
J Rowe: Registration and League statistics
B Johnstone: Competition Secretary
J Melvin: Treasurer and electronic results
Stuart Grassie: Secretary, Website
Michael Reaper: Committee Member
The proposal to split the league into two leagues was passed. Details on this will follow, and of course this does rely on a large number of teams entering the league this season.
The proposal for a commerative speed pool competition in Bruno's memory was passed. More details on this will be forthcoming.
The proposal for a change of rules to allow talking during doubles matches was passed.
The name of the averages is to be changed to Golden Cue.
Presentation night, the Singles and Knockout dates will be booked at the start of the season.
The team knockouts will be played during the season.
Teams will be able to text in the results of matches, although cards must still be posted to John Rowe as normal. More details on this will follow.
A cash fine will be enforced for the failure to deliver cards, extending to points being deducted. This will also extend to teams failing to send a representative to meetings. £10 for the first missed meeting, £20 for the second.
Subject to finances, new plaques are to be purchased for the League title, Singles and Doubles and Team knockouts. Also, small commerative plaques for League and Team Knockout champions to be purchased which can be kept by the pub.
Late registrations will be available for 4 weeks from the start of the season.
During the season, if a team becomes short on players then, at the committee's discretions, they may be allowed to sign on additional players.
Transferring of players is also to be allowed, in the case of players falling out with their team, but still wanting to play in the league, assuming another team will let them play. To be eligable, a player can have played a maximum of two games in the first four weeks of the season - this includes doubles. All transfers will be at the committee's discretion.
Player registration will be on the 18th of September, at the Royal British Legion, NO LATER THAN 8.45pm. If you are later than that, then Billy will probably have gone. Player registration fee's are as usual: £2 per player (£2.50 for late registration).
