Minutes

Not official minutes - only my interpretation, if i have missed anything please feel free to add it.

  • All teams attended apart from the Mount who will be fined £10.

  • Main focus was to decide who should go through to the next round between 2 doubles knockout teams. The issue arose due to the match being rearranged and one team not attending and then the opposite teams attending on the Sunday. One of the doubles teams didn't attend the meeting so where unable to put forward there argument  / side of the story. This was a major deciding contribution to the decision to put the team that was represented at the meeting through to the next round.

The rule is that Singles and doubles matches are to be played on the Sunday but can be rearranged if both teams agree, if the team you rearrange with fails to attend the rearranged date you still need to turn up on the Sunday to make sure they don't turn up then.

  • Some rules were confirmed on the evening and is was also agreed that there will be another meeting prior to the AGM to sit down and have a look at the rules, and make sure everything is clear. The AGM will give every team the opportunity to agree to the rules or make suggestions for changes.

  • The league Constitution was discussed and a complete and upto date version will be made available after the AGM.

  • Doubles Knockout has been postponed for this weekend due it being a bank holiday and Fleetwood are playing the 2nd  leg of a play off game at home.

  • It was reiterated that no member of the committee is expected to take abuse whilst  undertaking their role for the pool league, if  abuse is directed towards any committee member in the future there will be serous implications for the player /players in question.

  • Next meeting requiring full attendance will be 24th May at the Comrades upstairs at 8pm.

Please feel free to add anything i have missed, i quickly typed this from my poor memory. I have not gone into all of the details or named the doubles teams as i don't feel there is a need.

Knockout Matches

Can I just check that the expected start time for Knockout matches on a Sunday is 8pm?

Also, what are the rules if an opponent doesn't show? ie How long do you wait and what proof is needed to show you were there?

Cheers.

Knockout Matches

Hi,

The expected start time for K.O Matches is 8pm.  You need to try and be at the venue where you are playing your match at 7.45pm.  If your opponent hasn't turned up by 8.05pm (unless a different time is arranged between yourselves) then you may claim the game.  The meeting that was held on Monday covered all of what is expected of players, and your captain or represenatative should relay any issues to the team that was spoken about at the meeting.
