Please checkout the meetings section of this site as it gives information about the AGM. The AGM is an important part of our pool league. I often hear people moaning about the league so this is your chance to post things on the forum that you would like to be done different. Without suggestions and proposals nothing will get mentioned and nothing will get changed !!!

The league is run by volunteers the more volunteers there are the better it runs. If you are willing to support the league in anyway please put your name forward in the forums.

I have been looking at some software for running the league and i have posted more information and a link to what i have been working on in the forum, please take 5 mins to look at it and let me know what you think.

Fwd Cons Booted !!

Fleetwood Cons have been removed from the league due to non attendances at recent matches, all remaining teams to play them will receive 2 points for a win. This was agreed at the last meeting at the comrades on the 24th May 2010. It would be normal practice to go back to the half way point of the league to remove points from all that have played them, but it was decided that this would take to much time and leaving it as it is doesn't effect any standings in the table. All captains who where present at the meeting are aware the cons are no longer in the league but if you are due to play them please remind Captains and Landlords so that food isnt prepared. (if you forget just ring me and me and sharps will come and help you eat it)

I managed to resolve the problem, or at least I've found out what was causing it and stopped it from being a problem. There may be some further work I need to do with this, which may cause problems with logging in, but I'll try to keep any disruption to a minimum.

In other news, I will shortly be making available a forum, so that we can remove some of the clutter that Melvin has introduced to the menu at the top of the forum, and have an area where we can discuss how awesome the Comrades A your team is.

Jolly return to the Jolly Sailor

Melvin says that: The Jolly have returned to the Jolly Sailor, if the Jolly closes again the team will be removed from the League.

We are still having login issues on the site - I'm trying to get to the bottom of it as soon as I can. Thanks for your patience.

Problems logging in?

I am aware that some people may be having problems logging into the site. I've been looking into the situation, but as yet haven't gotten to the bottom of of things.

If you are cookied and are already logged in, don't log out :)

Hello,

I have added the table and results for game 24 (no card again, this needs sorting).

There is now a snap shot of the Averages for the season. 

I have created a couple of polls, if you have any suggestions for polls please email me.

Minutes of the last meeting are now on the site, please check them if you attended and let me know if anything needs adding.

Suggestion page added please feel free to add suggestions relative to making the league better because as we approach the end of the season now is the time to start thinking about what we can do better for next season.

Please ensure that all the members of your pool team know this websites exist and encourage them to use it, the more users we get on here the better the site will become.

I've not done much on the site lately, mostly due to work rudely getting in the way, it's been busy, so I apologise for not moving things along in a timely fashion on here. Behind the scenes though I have made sure that things are ticking over.

Logged in users should be able to see a new Downloads section, where you can download a copy of this seasons score card.

On my to-do list (short term):

  • Secure new hosting for the site, and move everything

    • This includes all files for the site and the database

  • Update the fixture list to include the fixtures for the rest of the season

    • Provide downloadable version

  • Update site with advertising
  • (re)Implement Facebook Connect, so people can (if they want) sign in with their Facebook account.

On my to-do list (long term):

  • Work on a way to administer (to a certain extent or more) the league online.

About the (forthcoming) advertising and sponsorship: Hosting fees and bandwidth charges aren't cheap, and whilst admittedly this is not a high traffic website, it has so far been hosted on my personal webspace. Which I have been happy to do so, however I feel it is best all round if the site does have it's own distinct hosting.
